Some mountain systems stand out and among them are the rocky mountain ranges of Chiribiquete, Cerro Azul, Serranía de La Lindosa (Puerta de Orion), San José and Tunahí and the hills of Cerbatana, Santa Ana, Paloma, Campana and Otare, with heights close to 800 meters above sea level. Carbon tests indicate an antiquity in the area of 12,000 BP.
